Somehow I always end up at Rio Rita's on my birthday. It just seems like a nice place to gather and a good meeting point for East Austin. Perhaps it's also the promise of Eastside Pies which they will gladly serve to you by the slice. Oh man, I could really go for a slice of Olivia right now. Pesto base, eggplant, artichoke, garlic, kalamata, black and green olives, and feta. So good.

The atmosphere is lovely with mismatched furniture and curtains, games and a back patio. Plus it's a good place to meet people if you don't know if they drink or not, as Rio Rita is a coffee shop too. However, if they don't drink alcohol they are sure missing out on this amazing Bloody Mary. Eh, their loss.

Mariah's 2 Cents: I also love hanging out at Rio Rita. It's got a divy but not too divy feel to it. Plus, their Bloody Mary is one of the best I've ever had. It's like 5 servings of veggies in a glass.. with vodka...
