I have had lunch at the Carillon a couple of times while attending functions at the Executive Education center and it is certainly one of the best gourmet buffets I have even eaten at. It always saddens me to see the word truffle coupled with a sense of disappointment, this happened to me at the restaurant Cyrus in Healdsburg, CA. Have you tried the Saba Nigiri special at Uchi? It is the best truffle dish I have had in Austin.

If you are interested, check out my food blog! I am currently traveling through Asia blogging about my food experiences.
