While I was there over the weekend, I noticed that a Fish City Grill was opening up there. It got me to pondering... Killeen isn't a small town like Hutto or Salado, but it isn't large as Waco, either. It made for a particularly boring place to grow up since the town was large enough to not be so horribly boring, but small enough that I can remember getting excited when the town got it's first Applebee's. Of course, that was years and years ago while I when I was living there. Since then, the city I call my "home town" has grown up and blossomed. Alot more retailers are in the area and there are new developments all over the place. One of the aspects of Killeen life this has affected is food. Many of the big names in chain restaurants have found a home there. So, this has me wondering about Fish City Grill. Does this mean that the appearance in the Fort Hood-Killeen area for the chain validates it an organization with long term future since it's been attracted to locales that display the growth this area has? Or does it more condemn it to the type of service that many of us come to expect from the larger chain restaurants? Good or bad for Fish City Grill? I don't know.
